Nick is a qualified teacher, group analyst and UKCP registered psychotherapist (psychoanalytic section). His therapeutic training has been with the Westminster Pastoral Foundation, Birkbeck College (University of London), the Tavistock Clinic (in association with the Lincoln Clinic & Centre for Psychotherapy) and the Institute of Group Analysis. Having lectured for a number of professional therapy bodies and on several university post-graduate courses, he is presently a tutor on psychodynamically-oriented trainings at the University of London (Psychodynamic Counselling & Organisational Dynamics), the Institute of Group Analysis (Qualifying Course) and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama (Music Therapy).

Nick’s clinical experience covers a wide range of contexts including the NHS, private and educational sectors. He has a particular interest in the latter and in the application of psychodynamic ideas in understanding the processes of teaching and learning. Having helped to establish counselling services in several educational institutions, he now works as a counsellor at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and as a small group conductor at the University of London and the Institute of Group Analysis. Through Analytic Practice he offers individual and group counselling/psychotherapy, CPD reflective practice groups for therapeutic practitioners and clinical supervision. He also offers specialist therapeutic consultancy to actors, writers, musicians and other artists experiencing creative anxieties, difficulties and blocks.

Nick is a published author (of fiction and therapy) [see selected recent publicatons], Managing Editor of the international journal Psychodynamic Practice and a practising musician.
